Getting Started

What is moar?

moar is a Chrome extension that optimizes documents for AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. It compresses files by up to 95% while preserving meaning, giving you faster processing and more context window capacity. Perfect for researchers, students, and professionals who want to get more from their AI subscriptions.

How much does moar cost?

moar is currently completely free with unlimited document optimizations. There are no monthly limits, no hidden fees, and no credit card required.

Do I need to install anything?

moar is a Chrome extension. Simply install it from the Chrome Web Store with one click, and you're ready to start optimizing documents. No downloads, no complex setup, no configuration needed.

How do I use moar?

Click the moar extension icon in your browser. Then: (1) Drag and drop or upload your document, (2) moar automatically optimizes it, (3) Copy or download the optimized version and paste it into any AI tool. The whole process takes seconds, and you can optimize multiple documents in one session.

Understanding Tokens

What are tokens in AI?

Tokens are how AI models measure and process text. Think of them as the "building blocks" of language for AI systems. A token is roughly 4 characters or about 3/4 of a word.

For example:

"Hello world" = approximately 2 tokens
"The quick brown fox" = approximately 4 tokens
A 1,000-word document = approximately 1,300-1,500 tokens

AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini have token limits (called context windows) that restrict how much text they can process in a single conversation. When you hit this limit, you can't add more content or get complete responses.

Why do tokens matter?

Every AI tool has a context window limit—a maximum number of tokens it can work with at once. For example, ChatGPT Plus has a 128,000-token context window. Once you reach this limit, you can't add more documents, ask follow-up questions, or include additional context without starting a new conversation.

By reducing your document's token count, moar helps you:

• Fit more documents in a single conversation
• Have longer back-and-forth exchanges with the AI
• Include additional context for better responses
• Process information faster (fewer tokens = faster AI processing)
• Avoid hitting limits that interrupt your workflow

How does moar count and reduce tokens?

moar estimates token counts using the industry-standard approximation of ~4 characters per token. This matches how AI tools calculate their context windows.

When you optimize a document, moar shows you:

• Before: Original token count
• After: Optimized token count
• Reduction: Percentage and exact number of tokens saved
• Context freed: How much extra space you've gained for your AI conversations

For example, if your original document is 10,000 tokens and moar compresses it to 2,000 tokens, that's an 80% reduction. You've saved 8,000 tokens—enough space to add several more documents or have a much longer conversation with the AI.

Features & Capabilities

What is the Library feature?

The Library is your optimization history. Every document you process is automatically saved with its stats—filename, token reduction, tokens saved, and optimization date. You can search, filter by date, bulk copy or download multiple documents, and see aggregate statistics. All Library data is stored locally on your device for privacy.

What are platform-aware insights?

moar lets you select which AI tool you're using (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, or Other), and it calculates exactly how much context window space you've freed up based on that platform's specific token limits. For example, if you're using ChatGPT (128,000-token context window) and you save 50,000 tokens through optimization, moar shows you that you've freed up 39% of your context window—enough space for several more documents or a much longer conversation.

What file formats does moar support?

moar currently supports 7 file formats: PDF, DOCX (Microsoft Word), PPTX (PowerPoint), XLSX (Excel), CSV (comma-separated values), TXT (plain text), and MD (Markdown). We're constantly working on adding support for more formats.

What's the maximum file size?

You can upload files up to 25MB. This handles the vast majority of documents—from research papers to lengthy reports—without any issues.

Which AI tools does moar work with?

moar optimizes documents for all AI tools that accept text input—including ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, and more. The optimized text works anywhere you can paste or upload content.

Can I see what was changed in my document?

Yes! moar shows you the compression percentage and tokens saved for each document. You can review the optimized version before using it, and your original file is never modified. The Library also lets you revisit any previously optimized document to copy or download it again.

How It Works

How does moar compress documents without losing meaning?

moar uses an AI-designed algorithm that understands context and semantic value. It removes redundancy, verbose formatting, boilerplate text, and unnecessary elements while preserving the information AI models actually need to understand your content. The result: up to 95% smaller files with zero loss of meaning.

The optimization happens in multiple stages—cleaning PDF artifacts, removing duplicate lines, compressing tabular data, simplifying verbose phrases, and normalizing whitespace—all tuned specifically for how AI models process text.

Does moar work offline?

Yes! Because all processing happens locally in your browser, moar works completely offline. No internet connection required. Your documents never leave your device, and there are no servers involved.

Privacy & Security

Is my data private and secure?

Yes, absolutely. All document processing happens 100% locally in your browser. moar never uploads your files to servers, never collects your data, and never analyzes your documents. Your intellectual property stays yours, and your privacy is protected. Even your optimization history in the Library is stored locally on your device.

Can I use moar for work documents?

Absolutely. Because all processing happens locally on your device, moar is safe for confidential business documents, client files, and proprietary information. Nothing leaves your computer. This makes moar ideal for professionals, researchers, and anyone handling sensitive information.

Support & Future Plans

Does moar work on mobile?

moar is currently a Chrome extension for desktop. Mobile support is something we're exploring for future updates.

Will there be a paid version in the future?

We're currently focused on delivering the best free experience possible. If we introduce premium features in the future, the core functionality you're using now will always remain free. We believe everyone should get the most value from their AI tools.
